Hello, I'm Ruth and I'm an artist living in London.
In 2011 I graduated in Digital Interaction Design from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. My degree has lead me on to creating artwork with a unique twist to it. Every piece of art I do, whether it be a card or an illustration, is unique. I have always loved personalising my own stuff, and I want to replicate it in my work. I love creating patterns and using colour in my work. One of my interest is maps. I love that maps are unique pieces of art, yet an every day tool for us. Mapping London
For my bestie Julie moving down to London, I wanted to make her something to make her feel welcome and to know what is good to do in London.
Since my history is in maps I decided to make a map to show places of interest; popular tube stops, my work, restaurants, pubs etc. It also got me being creative again and do something different than just cards.

Update update update
I reeeeeally want to update my website again. Only just updated it for Degree Show but I want to do a complete re work of it. I want somehow show my design inspiration through it. I already have a bit with the illustration in it, but I want to do more.

As usual, my technical skills let me down so I can’t do anything fancy (really, I don’t want to do anything fancy anyway) I want to have a simple, yet nice to look at it website!
I also need to create new business cards for New Designers. My old ones just had block colours on them, but the one’s I create now I want to have my work on them. I don’t want my one great image of my project I am exhibiting because once New Designers is over I will have a lot of cards that are probably unusable.
For New Designers we need to create an app and a book. The app is in the process, but the book needs reworked slightly. Not much, but I would like to have some input into the reworking however big or small it is!
My priority is business cards but my brain is still a bit hay wire. But hopefully sorting out other stuff tonight, and I can immerse myself in some drawing and designing.
